Sniffles...

Yesterday it rained pretty much all day and it was so miserable, yet it was still hot and humid. Work sucked, because I had wet feet and trousers from walking to work. But then I went out to say goodbye to Jenna & Fran, a couple of peeps I'd met a few months ago who are leaving for the coast today. Jenna was hammered and we caught her on camera in the reception of the hostel going to one of the rooms with the owner of the hostel, Fran was fuming somewhat but hopefully today they are ok, anyway, good luck an' all that to them for their travels up the coast before they go home to England...

Today I was a bit hungover but that soon cleared up after I made some lovely banana pancakes with chocolate sauce. I think my hayfever is starting to kick up again, I've been here a while so maybe the pollen is finally getting to me, I feel a bit crappy today because of it... Me and Shaun are in this internet cafe where its remotely cool, outside its blistering hot and Mr. Sun is in full swing... We've been putting up posters advertising our place as he's moving out and I'll need a new roommate. Hopefully I won't get any weird people calling up.... Though our advert specifically says 'People with leprosy need not apply', so maybe we'll get someone calling up who has a sense of humour at least...

I've been looking at stuff to do and in Melbourne at the start of April is the Formula 1 Australi Grand Prix. I think that would be silly not to go to that, so I think I should start planning my trip to Melbourne soonish. Then I can fruit pick and save some cash.. I keep saying that don't I?!

Amy leaves tomorrow to go to Perth (I think), to see Sofia, it'll be sad to see her go too. Nearly everyone I know from meeting here a few months ago has gone. Woe... On the flipside though, me and the flatmates ventured out for quick eats in Pontoon, then we went to an anti-valentines night at the Slip Inn. Me and Shaun left when they stopped serving at 12, it was a bit of an anti-climax really, and we briskly walked down to (where else but!) Side Bar! I met a few new people in there which was cool, one of which works in a salon so hopefully I can blag myself a cheap but decent hair cut.

My trainers and shoes are falling apart, and I still have no money. Its my birthday next Wednesday though, so support funds and food parcels are welcome heh heh.

Thats all for now children, I have got to go to work and dance on the bar for a bit...

Been a while ey!

Bonjour darlings, I know its been about a month since I last posted, and I still haven't really done much of any interest to be honest, but I've been having fun even though I'm just working in a bar still...

At the weekend it was tremendously busy at work, and on both Friday and Saturday nights we had a huge bar dance which was really cool, the DJ put on a good tune and it got cranked up and most of the staff just clambered onto the bar and started dancing throughout the whole song. Some of the customers loved it and it gave most of us a bit of a buzz and it made work a lot more enjoyable! But by the end of the night we'd had enough, so me and the two others that were left to close the bar just kept tipping glasses of cold water over each other, we were all soaking wet by midnight but it was fun! I technically have to leave the bar where I work on the 21st of Feb, as you can only work for the same employer for 3 months under the Visa working conditions, but I've been told I can stay on, get paid cash in hand so thus not get taxed (travellers get taxed 29%!!!) so I might do that for a few weeks, as I have a few places left in Sydney I still need to visit such as the Blue Mountains and the Royal Botanical Gardens.

Sydney Opera House, as if you needed telling...

Me and Amy went for a walk over the Harbour Bridge the other day which was fairly cool, the view of the Opera House and the city skyling was spectacular. It didn't take long to walk across and we found ourselves in North Sydney, which is a kind of mini CBD (Central Business District), but we still caught a train back to central Sydney! Earlier on that day though, I bought a Mc Bacon Double burger thing and as soon as I unwrapped and had taken my first bite, a seagull flew into my hand and stole the bacon and two burgers out of my sandwich! The meat was lost in a swarm of seagulls and I was left with an empty cheese cob! Now if I see a seagull I try to kick it into the sidelines like its an american football.... Evil vermin!

Sydney CBD

I went out each night last week, (so much for staying in and saving cash?!) met a pair of crazy Scouse girls Cath & Mandy (in where else but the Side Bar!) but they buggered off up to Surfer's Paradise later on that week. Me and a couple of peeps from work went out on Saturday night in Kings Cross (the dirtiest but most fun place to go out in Sydney) and got in at about 6am, all of us had work at around midday the following day. Work hasn't dragged so long for a yonks, as we were all totally wrecked!

If anyone has Superstylin' by Groove Armada they can send to my e-mail, please do! I miss this song so much and need it on my iPod!

Sorry to Becky for missing your birthday, hello Suzi I hope you do make me a nice t-shirt, Ben I hope you are looking after Suzi! And Ed I hope you are looking after Ben! To everyone else, I love you all lots and miss you all too.

I won't leave it so long next time, I will try to do something interesting soon to write about, I promise! Oh, I did go to a beach that I'd not been to before, me and Louise from work hit Coogee beach and tis lovely I tell thee! Was rather strange though, Louise saw a guy that she last saw in the hostel she stayed in a while ago, I saw a guy I met ages ago in Fiji, and I also saw a girl called Natalie that I met in the Wake Up! hostel. Crazy.

Oh, and Happy Chinese New Year!
