Mossman Gorge & Cape Tribulation

I kidnapped two of my flatmates; Tai & Kevin, stole a rental car (thanks Rose!) for a day and planned a day trip up north of Port Douglas, to Mossman Gorge and Cape Tribulation. Lovely little areas and I'd heard that it had to seen to be believed so off we went.

First stop, Mossman Gorge, forms part of the Daintree National Park. Although the gorge was so so cold it was definitely worth swimming in, and almost drowning away in the current as it was quite strong and I'm not the swimmer I used to be! Looked quite silly really! But as you can see from the pictures its a lovely little place and worth a dip!

The drive up to Cape Trip was lovely, twisty roads and some nice lookouts along the way, roads lined with tropical trees and the such. Took the cable ferry across to Cape Trip which is a nice lil' area with a couple of nice beaches, but we got there as the sun was in the low part of the sky.. Nonetheless we had a picnic which was very nice before driving back to home Port D... I'm sure that you can do loads of bushwalking and also go and do some reef trips but this was strictly a picnic affair... With loads of different types of cheese.. Every person in our flat was a bit of a cheese fanatic!!! Yum...

All in all, a lovely little trip! Well worth it, but I'd probably try to plan it a bit better if there was a next time, and leave earlier in the day as so to catch the sun when its at its best.
