Have a Proper bo', chrim'bo!

Hey, hope everyone had a nice Christmas, thanks to Leanne, Bertie Bee & Suzz, my Nan & whoever else, for sending me a card, I didn't get any presents from back home so it was nice to get some cards at least!

The Sunbeats thing was pretty cool, Judge Jules was, well, just Judge Jules I guess, some of the other dj's were pretty good, and the atmosphere and stuff was generally spot on. I went with Jenna & Fran and we mainly hung around the hard house/trancy main stage, I wanted to see more of the other two rooms, the funky house and the hip hop/rnb room but we got hammered and just ended up around the main arena. We left the place halfway through and Jenna wandered into the sea so I followed suit. I however forgot that I had my wallet, passport & disposable camera in my pockets. Also when I put my phone back in my pocket I didn't quite click that my wet pockets wouldn't take fancy to my phone, so that soon died!!!

I was in horror, but anyway when we got back to the arena, all wet and cold, I decided to crack open a few glowsticks, I think we were the only people there with them, how sad... But they were white, green and red, how festive!!! I stuck the green one in my mouth and kept chewing the plastic, eventually the plastic gave way and I actually swallowed some of the stuff that was in the glowstick, I know it sounds really dangerous and I did have a bit of a poorly stomach but now I'm ok... It actually tasted quite nice, perhaps I was too drunk, yes?!

I haven't got any photos, but I'm hoping Jenna or Fran took some and can e-mail me them, seeing as my camera was fully submerged in the sea I doubt I will have any photos worth developing from it! --- *EDIT* Jenna has since sent me her copies of the pics she took that day, have a look HERE!

I've bought a new digital camera too, kinda like my old one but a bit better, the Sony DSC T5, all you really need to know is that its a nice camera and it means that as long as I don't lose it, I'll be taking a few more pictures from now on, so you all have something to look at instead of just reading a boring journal!

Anyway, I hope Santa got you all what you wanted, sorry that he didn't bring you a wonderful little Stevie P in the form of a comedy boxset, but hell we can't all have what we want...

I must go, Australia needs me....

Wow its almost Christmas and its 30 degrees outside!

Sorry I haven't posted on here for a while, I've been mega busy just working all the time in Blackbird cafe. I've settled into my apartment and am getting on fine with my roommate and the two Swedish guys that live there, it kinda feels like home which is strange, but loads better than living out of a backpack in a hostel!!!

Anyhow, my plans for Chrimbo & the New Year....

SunBeats promises to be a fun way of celebrating Christmas Day. Dancing around on the beach in hot weather to a modest line-up of decent DJ's dressed in beachwear and a santa hat should be quality. I'm heading down with a couple of girls I met in the Wake Up! hostel, and apparently the place gets torn apart by backpackers, thats quality. Its also in the only place on Bondi Beach where alcohol will be sold, its banned from the public beach and the few streets behind it.

New Years Eve, I'll be walking around the Circular Quay, where the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge are, hoping to catch a glimpse of the celebrations and all that malarky. However, I've got work at 11am the next day so I can't really get drunk like I usually do every December the 31st!

I will put some pictures up of my end-of-year antics too, I'm gonna try to find a cheap but cheerful digital camera in Chinatown later on... and a memory card for my PS2 so I can actually save games rather than start all over again! Pro Evo 5 has started to take over my life already! I bought a second-hand slimline PS2 for about the equivilant of about 63 English pounds, (about $150 AUD)

Things that I've learnt in Australia;

  • Cars (especially Taxis) are really really out to run you over when you are crossing the road when you shouldn't be.
  • The chocolate doesn't taste as good, I think its cus they make the chocolate different so that it doesn't melt, but anyhow its rubbish compared to the UK stuff.
  • Microwave meals taste even worse than they do back home, and they are hundreds of times more expensive too.
  • You don't just get white or black coffee, white coffee is called a 'flat white', and black coffee is called a 'long black', or 'short black' (which is kinda like an espresso) Anyhow, Australia is supposed to be the second biggest consumer of coffee, behind Italy. I'd believe it, as there are loads of coffee shops and coffee kiosks littered everywhere you go around here.
  • All the cocktail bars are fairly crap, and the spirits and liqor they have over here is mostly rubbish and overpriced! Beer is rubbish too, except for a few.... (Crown Lager, Coopers & James Squire)
  • Australian's think that Fosters is p*ss, so they don't drink it... However, a beer called Carlton Draught is apparently Fosters in disguise, and they all drink that, fools!
  • They don't "throw shrimps on a barbie", as a shrimp is a guy with a small d*ck...
  • 'Thongs' are sandals, so don't be surprised guys when you are turned away from an Aussie club or bar when you are told that you are wearing 'thongs'...
  • The place is full of asian and oriental people, and they always seem to not know where they are going, they walk along in their own little world and just bump into you, which is highly annoying.

Some of you may have read or seen in the news about Anglo-Australian and Lebonese/Western gang fighting in Sydney and some of its beaches, its all over-rated though and I think that the pansy Aussies are just scared that some racial hatred has hit their shores, they should go to any major city in England!

That oil leak fire thing back home in Hemel Hempsted looked a bit scary though! Glad it drifted over to the Frenchies though, bwah-ha-hahaha!!!

Right, I'm off to find some modern photography device.

Merry Christmas mo'fos!

Steve.

Haven't Got Much To Say...

...but I guess I should write something..?!

Today I'm sending some Chrimbo cards back home, er, last night I went out again and had a rather mediocre night. Again I didn't drink, but today I still have a cold and its still in the 30's outside. I've just been sat here clearing up my cluttered iPod songlist and writing an e-mail or two... Later on I might embrace the gym and later on I'm going to go out in Manly where the nice beach is and meet up with a few friends. Its my last day off this week so I have to enjoy it.

Miss you all lots, I'd come back for Christmas if only Australia wasn't on the other side of the world. Am feeling a bit down today for some reason...

For those that are wondering, yes the toilet and the sinks and other stuff swirls the other way, but you don't really notice it...

Sydney is littered with Christmas decorations, but you don't notice them at all because its hot and sunny and everyone is walking around in shorts & t shirts.

Oh, and someone buy my car, she's for sale and needs a new fun-lovin' owner. Its not fair that she's not being driven much around back in England. You can see she is all pretty right here. Look, shes just dying to be driven around again... Go on, buy her!

I'm going to go now, I can see my enthralling post has you all in enough awe for now...

Love.

Eck, I'm ILL!

I would write a big long post about what I've been up to but I'm so so tired after going out last night, (note; I DIDN'T touch any alcohol last night I was 100% sober but still had a good night!) and I need to get back to my hostel for a nap before i go out for dinner later with two friends who I first met in Fiji...

Basically, since I last wrote stuff on here, that apartment that I was supposed to move into, well I called the lady and she'd since let it out to someone else! Biatch!

So me and Lawrence have found a nicer apartment anyway still in the city, its 10 minutes walk for me to work and its lovely and has a pool and gym, sauna and stuff in the basement and its still cheap at $130 a week. Living in a twin room with Lawrence and there is another twin room with two decent Swedish guys so it should be a good laugh living there. We've paid out bond and should move in over the weekend. Can't friggin wait!

I burnt so much on the beach that last night I started to peel SO SO bad! Most of my chest has peeled, big peely bits of skin... Ergh!!

Quit my other job in Khosh, it was doing my head in, so now I've just got the one bar job in Blackbird Café in Darling Harbour, which is cool because this week I have 4 days off in a row. I'll have 5 shifts next week though so back to normal then.

I've also caught a cold and sore throat, no, I haven't been kissing any girls (well only one) but I think I went out a bit too much and sang loads on the dancefloor whilst drunk so now I'm a bit poorly. I'm in need of some quality huggles. Its a bit weird with a cold because its been in the 30's lately, the weather has been awesome! Finally!

Gotta go, will write again soon folks.

Like a Lobster I tell thee

I went to the beach a few days ago, for the first time really since I left Fiji. I met up with Swedish Chris, and Yorkshire Amy who live there now and I laid on the beach burning and I'm red raw now on my front, my arms and face are ok though so at least I can cover up and not look silly. The weather has really picked up and turned nice, finally! This is what Australia is about.

I had found an apartment to move into, I viewed it on Friday, gave one of the tenants a call and said that I'd move in with a mate, would he let the landlady know that I wanted to move in etc.. He was like "thats fine cool I'll seeya soon", then I called the landlady on Sunday and she told me that she'd since let it out to someone else! I was a bit peeved off! Having spent all of Saturday in a good mood thinking about having somewhere to live FINALLY! Now I've gotta stay in the hostel for at least another week! I enquired about two apartments that are just outside of the city centre and am waiting for a call back so I can hopefully arrange a viewing. I have a feeling I will just take the first place I can, its Christmas soon and the weather is filthy hot so its going to be difficult to find anywhere to live real soon. The Wake Up! hostel is fun but my bed is in the corner of the 1st room on the 1st floor, and its right next to the kitchen, so I can just hear taps taps taps water running through pipes and it drives me mad. I've still not bought any earplugs yet either damnation. However two nights ago I stayed up until 6am watching the football back home, and last night I stayed up with some of the hostel staff (who'd been out on a Christmas party, drinking since 2pm) and some random people just watching films and generally arsing about and making a lot of noise, we got thrown out of the tv room at about 6am by the security guard and I got up at about midday.

I've got two jobs still and they both want me to work tonight, so I'm just not going to bother turning up for one job, they didn't do the schedule/roster for today until last night, and I know they want me in at four but I'm not working my life around a stupid bar job where the management piss me off and I'm the only one on the bar all night which is incredibly boring. Plus we always get paid late. So tonight I belong to Blackbird Cafe, anyway, the staff at Blackbird's are much more fun and there are loads of hot women that work there so thats HEAPS better... (See how I fit the word heaps in there? I'm turning more Aussie every second of my life)

By the way, people in Australia don't throw shrimps on the barbie, I think that was something that came from 'Crocodile Dundee'. Apparently a 'shrimp' in Australia, means a guy with a small willy....

Oh, before I go, I must say hello to Amy's mum Lesley, who apparently is reading this journal now and again. I have to say that Amy is behaving herself!

I gotta go, I'm in a Chinese net cafe and the language is killing me, I wish I could understand what they are all jabbering on about!

Stevie.

Lost My Digital Camera!

I went out to Bondi Beach last night to savour some of the bars and to meet up with a few people I met in Fiji; Nina Gaz & Dave. I got seriously drunk danced around a bit and met some crazy French girl.... Then when I went to meet a couple of friends in Darling Harbour on my way home, who were chasing ducks around and trying to take photos of them, I realised that I didn't have my digital camera, so I've actually fucking gone and lost it somewhere. I am pretty pissed off! I didn't have any photos on there except for the ones from that night, but it was a good camera and I never lose anything like my camera, wallet, phone or my keys when I go out, and I lose my fricking camera, its because I drank beer all night that must be it. I never drink beer all night!!! So I'll blame beer and never drink more than a couple of pints per night from now on...

I've got work in 40 minutes, and I have to get my clothes out of the tumble dryer. On a plus side the sun is out in Sydney, hopefully its here to stay, so tomorrow I'm going to go and get my light tan back as its almost gone and I'm pretty pissed off that it has! Also I have my Ghd's now because Suzi (thankyou Suzi!) sent me them, so now I can be a big girl and straighten my hair whenever I want.

Househunting was put on hold today, as I got out of bed at 3pm with a huge headache, I think however we should be able to find some kind of apartment really close into the city. Lets hope I can, because I'm in a dorm with 4 people who don't really talk to me because they are stuck in their own little group and they also seem to be fairly 'up' themselves....

Rant over, life moves on.

Adios.

New Oz Journal..

Howdy, I realised that this blog was getting a bit cluttered so I've made a new journal which can be found at the address below.... All the Aussie posts have been moved to this one and I won't be posting on here for a while, until I work out how to make the whole thing a bit more tidier!
